5 benefits of Sit/Stand Desks

Bad company Est.2017

Sit-stand desks have become increasingly popular in recent years as more and more research has shown the numerous benefits they can provide. All of our Bad Company co-working spaces are kitted out with Sit/Stand desks options so you can get the most out of your time here whether you are a permanent member or hot desking for the day. Here are just a few reasons why these desks will help you through your co-working day.

Increased energy

Sitting for long periods of time can make you feel tired and sluggish. Standing at a desk allows you to move around more, which can increase blood flow and boost energy levels. Hot tip: If you are new to standing desks, set a reminder to stand at certain points of the day for an hour like 10am & 2pm to get you into the groove, before long you’ll do it automatically!

Improve Posture

Sitting in a chair for hours on end can lead to poor posture, which can cause pain and strain on the neck, back, and shoulders. A standing desk encourages and reminds you to stand up straight, which can help improve posture and reduce pain. If you feel yourself hunching then snap out of it and into a up right position, your body will thank you for it.

Improved health + wellbeing

Sitting for long periods of time has been linked to weight gain, lower blood circulation and increased risk of chronic diseases. Standing at a desk, even on and off during the day helps burns more calories than sitting, which can help with maintaining a healthy weight. It can also reduce the risk of certain diseases by increasing blood flow, improving posture, whilst burning more calories.

Uplifted mood

By swapping between sitting and standing through out the day, moving your + body increasing blood flow it helps to uplift moods and lowers your stress levels. In one seven week long study, those using height adjustable desks reported less stress and fatigue than those who remained sitting all day. Sit + stand = a happier day!

improves productivity

Standing at a desk can help improve focus and concentration, which in almost all cases leads to increased productivity. Studies have shown that people who use standing desks are more alert and focused, which can lead to better performance at work.
