Passing on the ‘bad’ton

Update: Bad Company Mount is now under new ownership. Check out The Good Space for more information.

Bad Company Mount Maunganui is now, The Good Space.

So much has happened over these years - eight years of dedication to connection, creativity, and community. The Bad Company brand began with two co-creators (shout out to J Wow), then one, then two again, and now back to one. It’s hard to convey all the lessons learnt, the highs and lows, the successes, and the humbling moments.

I have always been passionate about cultivating community and crafting environments that foster a sense of comfort and belonging. The Bad Company brand has taught me the importance of wearing many hats - knowing when to put them on and when to take them off - and the value of collaborating with those who excel in their own lane. It has revealed the contrasts o efficiency and chaos, profit and loss, expansion and retraction.

BC - Once a thriving trio, these spaces will now move forward on separate paths, each carrying the spirit of the Bad bones. In Hawke’s Bay, Belinda steps in with a fresh and friendly direction, embracing the values that make the Bad Company brand what it is and will continue to be. Though her journey is less told here, know that she embodies the ethos of support, collaboration, and a welcoming community that encourages people to grow together.

While Wanaka has closed its doors and the Mount space may find a new owner or transition under a different brand, one thing remains certain: these communities are brighter because of what Bad Company meant to them. They will stay connected, full of life, and ready to spare five minutes for one another.
As I pass the "BADton" to Belinda in Hawke’s Bay, I do so with immense pride, gratitude, and hope for what lies ahead. The Bad Company brand has left its mark on me, and I trust it will continue to inspire and empower others in the future!
